What a weekend...

Wow, this weekend FLEW by...

Friday we went over to Lori's Grandparent's house in Kannapolis for dinner. They're heading to FL for a month, so the family got together and enjoyed her Grandfather's famous chili.

Saturday morning we returned to Kannapolis and met up with Lori's sister at Hope's Bridal Boutique. As much fun as that was, I decided to take a drive and I ended up at a marine store and looked at some boats and supplies. Then we met up at a local BBQ joint for lunch with Nell Fortner, a sweet lady that Whit takes care of. We had a really nice lunch with her and then I headed home while the girls continued to do wedding stuff. I went over to Walker's and helped him install a fan/light in their nursery. Later that evening we went to Denny & Niki's and met up with Walker & Candace for dinner. It was nice to finally meet Denny & Niki's daughter, Dylan, she is almost a year old and very cute. Denny made an awesome pork loin and we relaxed and caught up.

We had intended on going to church on Sunday, but we woke up a little late so we didn't make it. That afternoon we went to Gastonia for Katie’s mother’s visitation. On Wednesday she passed away after a year long battle with cancer. Karla was more than just our friend’s mother; she was everyone’s mother, and friend. It was a nice visitation with friends and family. Afterwards we headed home and got things together for the Super Bowl party next door at Derek and Devon’s. Alex & Ashton and Rob & Heather came over for a little bit and helped me make some sushi and wontons. It was great to see the Giants win the game!

Today we’re going to the funeral in Gastonia at 1:00 PM. I’m working from home and Lori wasn’t feeling well so she stayed home too. I’ve gotta wrap this up b/c Good Morning America went off about 15 minutes ago and now Regis and Kelly is on and it’s horrible.
